Mission and Objective
The St. Vrain Valley Student Film Festival provides an energized and creative platform in which students can learn about filmmaking and related skills, and then share their knowledge and efforts with our regional community. In addition, it provides an opportunity for Career and Technical Education students in the arts and media to organize and plan an event within their field of study.
Filmmaking is not only the creative endeavor of the director. It takes many hands and minds to make a successful film. This festival incorporates several skills that our high school students learn every day, including language and writing, drama, photography, fine arts, computer technology, business development, leadership, math, and science. From the screenwriting, acting, cinematography, editing, and even through the artistic creation of the SVVSFF festival trophies, we strive to provide opportunities for the entire student body to participate and to bring together a multitude of talents. Additionally, SVVSFF provides students the opportunities to learn from industry professionals through several workshops held during the festival.
